Calcutta Culture Walks

Kolkata or Calcutta? That is indeed a conundrum that every Bengali deals with at every rock-er adda, ie, the Bengali version of an intellectual dinner party (although far less sophisticated). We at Calcutta Culture Walks are still personally trying to grapple with this confusion, but since we had to pick, we stuck with ‘Calcutta’, and you may chose to do so, if it fits you. Or, ditch the colonial hangover, swing out that ‘kaalo chaata’ (typical black umbrella, favoured by every Bengali), and give a go at pronouncing ‘Kolkata’ (pronounced Coal-ka-ta).

Home to the Victoria Memorial, puchka, rosogolla and para football and so much more, Calcutta is the sleepy nostalgic capital of West Bengal. It is believed that Calcutta's best tales are hidden in its multitudinous bylanes. We at, Calcutta Culture Walks believe in exploring those gems and bringing those stories to you. Join us during one (or more) of our tours to experience the city from our unique perspective.
